Outerbounds is a culture and media agency based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We own and operate outerbounds.co.za. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit this site, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
What we collect and why
Google Analytics (GA4)
If you accept cookies, we load Google Analytics 4 on this site. It collects anonymised data about how visitors use the site — pages viewed, time on site, device type, and approximate location (country/city level). We use this to understand which content performs and to improve the site.

Meta Pixel
If you accept cookies, we load the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to measure the reach of our marketing and to understand how visitors from Meta platforms interact with this site. Meta may use this data to serve relevant advertising on its platforms.

What we do NOT collect
This site has no sign-up forms, no accounts, and no payment processing. We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifying information through the site itself.
Your choices
When you first visit the site, a banner gives you the option to Accept or Decline analytics cookies. If you decline, neither Google Analytics nor the Meta Pixel will load. Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage.
To change your choice, clear your browser's local storage for this site (DevTools → Application → Local Storage → outerbounds.co.za → delete ob_consent) and reload the page — the banner will reappear.

POPIA compliance
We comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), South Africa's data protection law. We only collect data with your consent, use it for the stated purpose, and do not sell or share it with third parties beyond the analytics providers listed above.
Data retention
Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default, after which it is automatically deleted. We do not store any analytics data on our own servers.
Third-party links
This site links to third-party platforms including YouTube, Spotify, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Once you leave this site, their own privacy policies apply.
